HISTORY OF ISO 29993

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created the relatively new standard ISO 29993:2017. In response to the growing recognition of the significance of social responsibility in learning services outside of formal education, the development of this standard began in 2011. The first international standard specifically addressing social responsibility in learning services, it was published in 2017. The standard is based on international norms of behavior and best practices and was developed by a committee of experts from more than 30 countries. The purpose of ISO 29993:2017 is to assist businesses in enhancing their performance in social responsibility, enhancing their reputation, and establishing trust with stakeholders
